WC 2023: Senegal upsets Croatia with a draw, tough win for Denmark against Serbia

After scoring 43 goals in their opening win (43:11) against Greenland, Norway surpassed that in a high-scoring victory over European wildcard entry Austria, winning 45:28 in front of 5,000 spectators at the DNB Arena in Stavanger to confirm their passage through to the main round.
Spain joined Brazil as the second team from Group G to progress to the main round at Denmark/Norway/Sweden 2023, after sealing a 32:20 win against Ukraine.
Pushed by their home crowd in Gothenburg, co-hosts Sweden opened the 26th IHF Women’s World Championship with a clear victory against People’s Republic of China.
Taking the lead for the first time in the 54th minute, Denmark finished off the match against Serbia in dominating fashion, but plenty of questions will need to be answered after their hard-fought 25:21 win, in the co-hosts’ opener in Herning.
