Till Klimpke Joins Danish Second Division Club HØJ Elite in Surprise Move

German national goalkeeper Till Klimpke is set to join HØJ Elite in Denmark’s second division this summer, raising questions about an ambitious handball project near Copenhagen.

HØJ Elite’s Promotion Push

After narrowly missing out on promotion last season, HØJ Elite has made significant investments, signing top players like Bundesliga legend Hans Lindberg (Füchse Berlin), Linus Arnesson (Bergischer HC), and Emil Imsgard (Pick Szeged). The club currently leads the table with 40 points, aiming for direct promotion.

Klimpke Strengthens Squad for Top-League Challenge

Klimpke joins a growing project as HØJ prepares for top-flight handball. Other key signings include Hampus Wanne (FC Barcelona) and Tobias Nielsen (Aalborg, loan). The club aims to challenge Aalborg in the long run.

“We want to establish ourselves in the league and eventually reach the top,” Klimpke said, acknowledging that the project will take time.

HØJ Elite’s Rapid Growth

HØJ (Holdfællesskabet Ølstykke Jyllinge) is a merger of Danish clubs, previously reaching the second tier in 2011 and 2013. Their women’s team is also on the verge of promotion, marking a historic rise for the club.

With promotion in sight, HØJ Elite is positioning itself as a future powerhouse in Danish handball.
