RK Alkaloid Reaches EHF Cup Final – First Leg in Athens

North Macedonia team RK Alkaloid will play the first leg of the EHF Cup final in Athens, as determined by the draw in Vienna.
After the opening clash on May 17/18 in the Greek capital, the return leg will take place in Skopje seven days later.
The great success in Norway, where Runar Sanderfjord was eliminated after penalty shotout and a spot in the final was secured in only the club’s second European season, was commented on by coach Kiril Lazarov:
“I’m proud of the team for how they played these two matches against a seriously strong opponent. In the absence of our key players, we showed that if the collective acts as a team, it can compensate for many shortcomings and achieve success.
Given the circumstances, we’re expecting a fiery end to the season. We’re paying attention to everything to ensure we’re at the required level for the important matches. Reaching the final is a big success for Alkaloid, but also for all of Macedonian handball. We expect support in the final from handball fans in Macedonia – it will be very much needed,” said Lazarov.
