Rastislav Trtik passed away at age 63


Czech handball coach Rastislav Trtík passed away at age 63.
Ttrik played in the highest competition in the Czech Republic for Baník from Ostrava and Karvina. He ended his playing career in Germany.
As a coach, he won championship titles with Baník Karviná, Frýdek-Místek, who led the Czech elite, and Tatran Prešov. With the German Melsungen, he advanced to the first Bundesliga. He also trained at the German Empor Rostock and the Polish Górnik Zabrze.
He also worked twice in the role of sports director in Karviná. In addition, he devoted himself a lot to work with youth.
With the Czech national team, he was eleventh at the European Championship in Slovenia 2004 and 10th at the World Championship in Tunisia 2025. He led the national team in 2021, he finished with it in February 2022.
