The International Handball Federation is continuing its practice which was established after the World Championship in Sweden to compensate the clubs of the players participating on the IHF World Championship.
Like at the last World Championships in Sweden and Spain, the clubs which sent players to Qatar will each receive amount set by the number of Championship days their national team had to play. Players of the teams ranked one to four will receive 400 Swiss Francs per player per day, for the ranks five to eight the clubs will receive 300 Swiss Francs and for the places 9 to 16 – 200 Swiss Francs. The ranks 17 to 20 will get 100 Swiss Francs per day and for places 21 to 24 the clubs will receive 75 Swiss Francs per day.
The total amount the International Handball Federation will have to pay to the clubs reaches 1.159.525,00 Swiss Francs.
The most represented clubs were FC Barcelona of Spain and Meshkov Brest of Belarus with 12 players each. They are closely followed by the Macedonian Vardar Skopje, the Polish Champion KS Vive Tauron Kielce and the Asian Champion El Jaish Doha with 11 players each. European giants THW Kiel and Paris Saint Germain were represented by 10 players during the 24th Men’s World Championship in Qatar.
