Milos Kos to miss EHF EURO 2026

Raul Gonzales is having a tough time solving Serbia’s left back situation.

We definitely won’t see Miloš Kos in Serbia’s jersey at EHF EURO 2026 in Herning (Denmark). The Erlangen left back has been unable to recover from an ankle injury that disrupted his rhythm this autumn, and he will therefore miss the major tournament, which was meant to be his second after making his debut at EHF EURO 2024 in Germany.

Earlier, Marko Milosavljević also dropped out of the plans. A regular national team member in a previous period, he is also dealing with injury problems. A shoulder issue he tried to manage will have to be treated surgically, meaning that neither the national team nor his club Kriens-Luzern will be able to count on him in the first part of the 2026 calendar year.

Gonzales will clearly have Uroš Borzaš as his first option, although he too had injury problems—he had finger surgery and missed several weeks during the autumn. Other options include Marko Tasić, Aljoša Damjanović, Lazar Kukić, Stefan Dodić, and Veljko Popović.

Vojin Čabrilo, Vojvodina’s left back who has exploded under Vladan Matić since returning from French side Toulouse, has joined the national team camp. He is not on the extended list, so he will help ensure the training process runs as smoothly as possible.
