In the first round of the qualification phase for the Women’s European Championship, there was only one surprise worth of nothing. Austria were favorites to win this game at home, but they were badly surprised by the strong Czech team. In front of 800 spectators at the Maria Enzersdorf venue in Sudstadt, the Czech team took the advantage early, to have a small lead at halftime 16:13. In the second half there was a big trashing of the Austrian team, and the Czech have won 36:26 at the end.
