BATTLE FOR COLOGNE: HBC Nantes with one goal plus to Lisbon
Whether we will witness a Portuguese club at the EHF Champions League Final4 tournament for the first time or Nantes from France will secure their third appearance in Cologne, will be revealed during the 60 minutes of the second quarter-final match in Lisbon.
After the first match, the French vice-champions hold a slim advantage of one goal – 28:27 (13:10).
The home team, led by the outstanding Minne (seven goals), had a five-goal lead at the start of the second half (15:10). However, the Portuguese side found a way back, equalizing at 23:23 and even had the chance to return home unbeaten, but Francisco Costa’s final shot was blocked.
Aymeric Minne (7 goals) for Nantes and Martim Costa (8 goals) for the Portuguese side were the top scorers for their respective teams.
