Aron Kristjánsson to lead Kuwait


The Kuwait Handball Federation has officially appointed Aron Kristjánsson as the new head coach of its men’s national team. This appointment marks a significant step forward for Kuwaiti handball, given the vast experience of the Icelandic coach at both the national and club levels.
Previously, Kristjánsson led the Bahrain national team from 2018 until the 2025 World Championship. One of his greatest achievements was guiding Bahrain to the quarterfinals of the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games.
In addition to his tenure with Bahrain, Kristjánsson has an impressive coaching career in European handball. He has managed the Icelandic national team, the Danish club Aalborg, and Hannover in the Bundesliga. With his extensive experience in international tournaments and European leagues, he is a valuable asset to Kuwait’s coaching staff.
