Over 6.500.000 TV viewers of Olympic Final replay in Germany


Olympic 2024 final replay between Denmak and Germany was a major TV hit in the biggest “handball country”. An average of 6.53 million people watched the DHB team’s 30-40 loss on ARD, making it the highest-rated match of the tournament so far on Tuesday evening. According to data from AGF Videoforschung, this translated to a market share of 26.9%.
Even more impressive were the ratings among the younger audience. With 1.74 million viewers and a market share of 33.4%, every third viewer in the key advertising demographic watched the rematch of the Olympic final.
The remaining main round matches for Alfred Gislason’s team will be broadcast live on ZDF: Thursday (6:00 PM) against Italy and Saturday (8:30 PM) against Tunisia.
