FC Porto Sofarma and Bidasoa Irun celebrated their first wins at VELUX EHF Champions League 2019/2020.
The Portuguese champions made a spectacular turnover against Meshkov Brest 27:25 (9:15) to secure first points before trip to Skopje, where they will chase the reigning EHF Champions League winners – RK Vardar Skopje.
Branquinho was TOP scorer for the winning team with eight goals, while Darko Djukic netted 10 for the Belarussians.
The Spanish vice-champions Bidasoa from Irun won in Presov against Tatran 25:23. This was the first EHF Champions League since 1996. Bidasoa Irun have won European elite competition in 1995.
