Coach of the national team of Serbia, Veselin Vuković, announced 28 players for the action “Sweden 2011”. Legend of the Yugoslav handball at the bench of Serbs can’t count on Milutin Dragićević (27), line player of THW Kiel, who decided to stop to play for the national team, because private reasons. “Hercules”, what is his nickname from the time when he played in Denmark, already left the national team during WC 2009 in Croatia, unhappy, because he wasn’t in squad of 16 players. After that, Dragićević decided to come back and help Serbia to qualify for the WC 2011 in two matches with Czech Republic last June, but now it look like that decision is final. From the squad for EURO 2010, Vuković didn’t invite six players (Danijel Andjelković, Aleksandar Stojanović, Nikola Kojić, Petar Nenadić, Dejan Perić and Ivan Lapčević)
Serbs will start with the preparation for the WC 2011 at 20th December. They will play three friendly matches until 14th January, when they will start in Malmo against Algeria. At the “Day of Serbian Handball” at 26th of December in Belgrade will meet Serbia and Russia (Vladimir Maximov is the guest of the coaching seminar). After that, Serbia will travel to Tunisia, where will play against home team. Finally, a few days for trip to Scandinavia, Momir Ilić and the others will face Austrian national team, again in Belgrade.
