It seems like it’s going to be a great season for Rhein-Neckar Loewen. The team from Mannheim advanced to the top of the table with a 30:27 home win against title contender Flensburg-Handewitt. The “Lions” took the lead from the beginning, starting from a nice 5:1 lead in the 10th minute of the match, and never let the lead go. Flensburg might have been a little tired from the European Champions League campaign, but still no excuse for the defeat. Petersson and Du Rietz were the leading topscorers for the home team with 7 goals each, while Mogensen and Eggert scored 6 each for the visitors from Schleswig-Holstein.
The eighth round continues today, when GWD Minden hosts HSV Hamburg and Grosswallstadt welcomes Fuchse Berlin. The rest of the games of the round are scheduled for the weekend.
